Essentia is a Latin word which means Essence. Your Essence is what makes you uniquely “you”; it is what separates each person in their individuality.

I believe we leaders are unique on our leadership style. There is no leader identical to another one. It is important for leaders to recognize their unique style, their Leadership Essence. 

Many times I have seen potentially great leaders get derailed because they failed to recognize their Leadership Essence, as they tried to respond to challenging situations by going against their values and deep beliefs.

My goal at Essentia Leadership Coaching is to help high potential leaders grow their leadership effectiveness, through the understanding of their Leadership Essence, maximizing their potential to become truly unique and impactful leaders.

The Impact of Leaders

The impact of leaders on their team’s contentment at work is second to none. Research shows that 70+% of people who opted to leave their jobs did so because they could not stand their leaders. I have had about 30 leaders along my career – and I know exactly those who made me feel great and those who made me miserable! And I know I performed at my best with those who treated me with respect and awareness and did not do as much with those who made me feel bad. This is what I call impactful leadership – getting your team to perform at their best.

This situation goes well beyond work and poor performance, as people who feel miserable at their jobs will alter their behavior with their family and friends, leading to personal crises which will impact their performance at work. This is a circular pattern that builds with time, making these people and their families stressed and unhappy, with long term consequences for their wellbeing and professional success.

We leaders lead human beings – keep always on your mind the personal impact you have on those you lead. Make a difference – help them grow and live a balanced, healthy life.
